Academic Advisement or AA is a time for students and teachers to make connections on various levels. From 12:55-1:15 we have time set aside at SMS for AA. During this time your child is paired with a 6th grade teacher and is mentored in one of the following areas: team building, goal setting, service projects for the school and community, character building, and career exploratory activities, provided by our carrer specialist, Ms. DeBruhl. The main purpose for this time each day is to make a connection and to encourage your child in these specific areas so that they can have a successful transition into middle school and beyond.
